Applications

Frequently asked questions

Why does the ZTLS use ultrasonic wind sensors instead of mechanical ones?+

The ZTLS uses ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensors because they have no moving parts, which reduces maintenance requirements on transmission line towers that are difficult to access.

How much power does the ZTLS draw?+

The ZTLS draws under 30mA at DC12V in normal operation, dropping to under 10mA in sleep mode, allowing solar or battery power supply on remote towers.

Does the ZTLS have a cold-weather option?+

Yes. The ZTLS has an optional heating element for extreme cold and an anti-condensation coating fitted as standard.

What sensor modules is the ZTLS built from?+

The ZTLS is built from Zata IoT's ZWS600, ZWS400 and ZWS200 compact weather sensor modules.
