ZPA Barometric Altimeter
ZPA-1 / ZPA-2
The ZPA is a barometric altimeter available in two variants, ZPA-1 using a silicon piezoresistive element and ZPA-2 using a vibrating cylinder element, both measuring atmospheric pressure and derived altitude. It is supplied in the UK by MetSensor UK.
- ✓ Two sensing options: ZPA-1 silicon piezoresistive, ZPA-2 vibrating cylinder
- ✓ ZPA-1 range 25-1150 hPa, ZPA-2 range 103-1450 hPa
- ✓ ZPA-2 offers 0.1 hPa FS accuracy, equivalent to 10 cm altitude resolution
- ✓ 0.01 hPa resolution on both models
- ✓ RS485 output on ZPA-1; RS485/422/232 on ZPA-2

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between ZPA-1 and ZPA-2?+
ZPA-1 uses a silicon piezoresistive sensing element with a range of 25-1150 hPa and ±0.3 hPa accuracy. ZPA-2 uses a vibrating cylinder element with a wider range of 103-1450 hPa and tighter accuracy of 0.1 hPa FS, equivalent to about 10 cm of altitude.
What resolution do the ZPA models offer?+
Both offer 0.01 hPa resolution.
What interfaces do the ZPA models support?+
ZPA-1 uses RS485. ZPA-2 supports RS485, RS422 and RS232.
What is the operating temperature range?+
ZPA-1 operates from -40°C to 85°C; ZPA-2 extends down to -55°C.
