Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a pyrheliometer and a pyranometer?+
A pyrheliometer, such as the TBS, measures only direct-beam solar radiation from a narrow ~0.5° angle pointed at the sun. A pyranometer measures total solar radiation from the whole sky, including diffuse light.
What spectral range does the TBS cover?+
0.3-3 μm.
What output signal does the TBS provide?+
0-50 mV analogue output, or RS485 digital output.
Does the TBS require external power?+
It can be powered by DC 12/24V or solar power.
